I just got to thinking about my brother-in-law who lives in another country and who we struggle to connect with from afar and though we’ve been worried about him, let the time difference and schedules keep him out of sight out of mind. I’m thinking it’s about time I reach back out.
Wondering how many of us are in or out of touch with our loved ones right now?
I think I’m the one member of the family that struggles the most to keep in touch with my son. My daughter and husband seem to communicate with him regularly, but for some reason it’s harder for me to reach out. It’s very out of sight out of mind. Every time I reach out to him he really really appreciates it and writes back lovingly, so I wish I made more of an effort, but it can be hard.
My brother has been living in another country for over 10 years while struggling with addiction. I make a point to check in via text or video chat at least once a week. I keep in touch with our parents to make sure we’re all making some effort to stay in touch. He actually just came home for a visit for two weeks which is something we try and make happen at least once a year!
