At what point (and to who) do we escalate the conversation?

It’s becoming more and more clear that my good friend has a problem with drinking. She’s about half my size and can drink me under the table. She constantly talks about the things that happen when she drinks - blacking out, passing out on the couch, throwing up on a prospective date. Seems like college-style drinking has lingered into her 30s now. She’s talked to me about how her brother thinks it a problem too. We live in different states so it does seem to go a bit out of site (and state) out of mind. AND she’s super successful in her career (and from the outside - life!) so it’s hard to fault her behavior.

When should we be escalating the conversation? And when is it necessary to bring the family in?

Sounds like now would be a good time to escalate it. All signs point to “yes”!
