My husband is starting a morning routine to help get him out of bed by watching something inspirational.

This is his favorite: Change the world by making your bed.

My son gets up every day and meets with a group of people he likes to study with, and always feels so accomplished when he’s done. This feeling of accomplishment helps him want to continue to be motivated every day.

My friend has a group chat with people in her recovery group and every day they text each other what they are grateful for. In addition, she journals her gratitude daily and after she sends her first text to the group also writes down what her specific motivations that day are.

The ‘5 Minute Journal’ is a great (and quick) way to start a new habit and start your day happier… https://www.intelligentchange.com/products/the-five-minute-journal

My brother has a new routine that he started and it seems to be helping his long-term recovery. Every morning he’ll take a walk and write down some music lyrics and maybe once a week he’ll ask us to listen to what he’s written. I think writing down the lyrics is almost like journaling to him and sharing his lyrics is a way for him to reconnect with us, his family.
