Hi all, I just wanted to come on and share something that has really been helping with my self-care lately.
I’ve been struggling with anxiety for the past year or so, I think directly relating to my fiance’s addiction, and feelings of powerlessness about it all.
For the past 3 weeks, I have been setting an alarm for 1/2 an hour earlier, and sitting up in bed to write out 2 pages of positive affirmations, followed by a bit of reading if there’s still time. It has been such a simple shift, and so easy to incorporate into my day, and it has made a huge difference. My outlook on daily life is more positive, I am more patient, my stress and anxiety levels are WAY down, and it is having a really positive impact on my relationship as well.
If you’re not familiar with positive affirmations, there is a lot of information out there, but the main thing is, you write out a bunch of good things about yourself and the life you want as though it’s already true. It’s really important to do it consistently, and it can feel really weird at first, but quickly becomes so empowering.
Here are some examples from my writing this morning:
I am strong.
I am courageous.
I am a patient and loving partner.
I approach conflict with love and empathy.
My spirit is free and at peace.
I am exactly where I need to be.
Everything will work out exactly as it is supposed to.
I am worthy of love.
etc.
You can use these to address personal, and professional aspects of your life, and I think you will be amazed at how quickly you can manifest change in your life.
I hope this is helpful, and please share if you’ve had any experience with this working for you too!
