The Temper: 10 Ways to Be the Best Ally to Someone Who’s Struggling with Addiction
Great article and yes a reminder that those small wins like going to work everyday is a win for my son! And small Wins of chores getting done. While he may not be consistent with his few chores, he feels he is participating! So, while I may disagree about his consistency, I tolerate and am flexible sometimes depending on his life schedule. And with the other times, we have a firm respectful conversation about chores etc. and he now gets back on track more easily ! Before the conversation would be extreme! It seems that it is so simple yet with folks with addiction, the simple Is complex and can be super frustrating and hard to understand. I’m always perplexed and say in my head “why doesn’t he just do the right thing as it is so easy to do?!?!?” Each of our task oriented conversation brings discomfort and I’m hoping each time we have the same talk that it will bring less discomfort each time! Our most recent conversation about chores was a WIN and he kept his word!! Simple yet such a complex learning as you talked about in the article and mention on this site! Thank you for your words!
Thanks for sharing @Marie_Marie I too like to know I’m not alone in this glad your with me, and us
